Scór lays groundwork for new season
THE Duhallow Scór group hosted its AGM hosted at the Kanturk GAA Clubrooms, again confirming it had made huge strides in the promotion of cultural affair within the GAA. And that was reflected on county, provincial and All Ireland participation during the past year.

Scór Group for the new season are Chairman Liam Buckley (Kilbrin); Vice Chairman, Tony McAulliffe (Limire), Secretary Julie O’Connor ( Freemount), Asst Secretary, Margaret Herlihy (Boherbue); Joint Treasurers Phil Guiney (Newmarket) and Jerome Casey (Boherbue), PRO Kathleen Reidy (Freemount) and Development Officer James Lenihan (Millstreet).
Cultural talent at its finest is expected to emerge within Duhallow for the upcoming divisional Scór na nÓg and Scór na bpaistí competitions. Interest within the GAA promoted programe continues to abound and barriers broken.
From 2017, Cullen enjoyed a popular win to bridge a 45-year gap thanks to Maggie Moynihan collecting an individual accolade. 2019 beckoned and a follow up triumph, Maggie part of a Cullen Ballad Group also comprising Katie
O’Sullivan, Emily Nagle, Gemma Nagle and Clodagh O’Connor to collect collect outright honours, delivering a surperb rendition
From senior level and in the Munster Final, Kanturk’s Muireann Vaughan, emerging best in the Solo Singing.
Elsewhere a Boherbue Table Quiz team earned runner up place in the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Final.
During the past season, consistency allowed Boherbue emerge popular winners of the Paddy Carroll Memorial Cup as Best Scór club in the county in a league competition based on participation and success at underage and adult level.
