Gael Scoil have good win in 15-a-side final

Gael Scoil Thomais Daibhis 3-9 Charleville CBS 1-3

GAEL Scoil Thomais Daibhis were far too strong for Charleville CBS in the 15-a-side A1 final in Mallow.

Padraigh O Murchu opened with an early point with Sean O Murchu adding another in the fourth minute. The Gael Scoil defence were very solid clearing their lines very well. Sean O Caomhanaigh added another point with Padraigh O Murchu and Sean O Murchu combining well for Ben O Se who made it 0-4 to 0-0.

Charleville’s Calvin Hickey was brought down in the area and the same player goaled from the penalty. Gael Scoil had a point by Rian O Caingne and they continued to do well. They had a goal by Sean O Gogan as they moved 1-7 to 1-0 clear. Good play by Sean O Corcorain and Rian O Caingne led to a goal by Sean O Murchu as the Gael Scoil built up a big lead at the break 2-8 to 1-0.

On the restart Charleville CBS had three early pointed frees by Calvin Hickey. Xavier Neligan was very good all through for the Charleville side. Both sides made a number of substitutions. Scores were scarce for the rest of the game.

Gael Scoil had a goal by Ben O Se with Colm de Bhailis having a point in the closing moments. There was no denying the Gael Scoil their deserved victory.
