THERE was no jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 6, 22, and 23. There were three lucky-dip winners of €50 each as follows: Ann Greaves, Rockmills, Kildorrery; Mrs K Collins, Kilmallock; and Daniel, Thomas and Ella Flynn, Quitrent Mountain. Next week’s jackpot is €3,500.

SHOEBOX APPEAL UNDERWAY FOR 2019

You can join the 2019 Christmas Shoebox Charity Appeal and make a child smile this year.

The shoebox appeal gives gifts to children less fortunate. Fill a shoebox with a ‘Wash’ ‘Write’ ‘Wear’ and ‘Wow’ item and place it in a gift-wrapped shoebox, then give it to any pupil who attends Scoil Mhuire.

You can make a difference and light up a child’s life this Christmas.

Applicatio­n forms are available at Emmett’s Shop. The deadline is November 8.

VOLUNTEER FOR MITCHELSTO­WN COMMUNITY GAMES

Mitchelsto­wn Area Community Games was formed in 1969 by PJ Walsh and loyal volunteers. The area now includes Araglin, Glanworth, Kildorrery, Kilworth ,Mitchelsto­wn and Shanballym­ore.

Community Games provided and still provides young people with the means and the opportunit­y to utilise children’s leisure time in a healthy and productive manner.

There are 47 games on offer, be they cultural or sporting, for children aged from six to 16.

Games are organised at local level before advancing to Cork County , Munster and Nationals.

Community Games need a wide range of people to coach, train or manage local teams in sporting and cultural activities.

One can also help with committee work; organise and steward local events; local fund-raising and sponsorshi­p; work in PR and developmen­t at local and county level; and transport teams and equipment
