Catherine Roche

The death occurred, after an illness bravely borne, of Catherine Roche at Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross Dublin on Saturday, November 2.

The late Catherine was a native of James Street, Mitchelsto­wn. She was a popular member of the community.

Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance present at her funeral on Sunday evening from the Chapel of Rest Baldwin Street to the Parish Church, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Monday.

Interment took place Brigown New Cemetery.

Margaret Cronin

The death occurred on Thursday, October 31, at her home of Margaret Cronin, Ballinvohe­r, Castletown­roche.

The late Margaret was a member of a well-known family.

There was a very large attendance at the Removal from Hannon’s Funeral Home, Kildorrery, on Saturday evening to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castletown­roche, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday.

Interment took place to Kildorrery local Cemetery.

George O’Keeffe

The death occurred on Thursday, October 30, at Mallow General Hospital of Noel (George) O’Keeffe, Cahirmee, Doneraile.

The late Georgie, as he was best known, was very popular and known over a wide area.

He was a hay and straw dealer and was in contact with farmers over a wide area.

There was a very large attendance at his Removal on Saturday evening from O’Keeffe’s Funeral Home Buttevant to the local St Mary’s Church (Buttevant).

There was also a fine attendance at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday. Interment took place to Oldcourt Cemetery, Doneraile.

To his wife, Eileen; son, George; daughters, Rose and Annamarie; grandchild­ren, James and Ryan; sisters, Sheila, Patricia, Mary and Theresa; brothers, Frank and John; brothers-in-law; sister-in-law; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Maura Young

The death occurred at Cork University Hospital on Wednesday, October 30, of Maura Young, Patrick Street, Fermoy.

The late Maura was a former librarian and was involved at the Mexican Embassy, London.

She was well known in Fermoy area. Her Funeral took place privately at her request

To her sisters, Kathleen and Bernadette (Mulcahy); nephews and nieces, especially Mary Mulcahy (O’Sullivan) and William Mulcahy; great-nephews, Liam and Sean; great-nieces, Grace and Hannah; relatives; neighbours and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Jimmy Ryan

The death occurred on October 23 of James (Jimmy) Ryan, Clostogue, Shanballym­ore at Abbeylands Nursing Home Kildorrery. The late Jimmy, in his 88th year, was predecease­d by his wife, Bridie.

He was very well-known in GAA circles being involved with Shanballym­ore club all his life.

He won a County Intermedia­te Hurling Championsh­ip medal in 1951. His popularity was borne out in the large and represente­d attendance present at Hannons’ Funeral Home, Doneraile, on Thursday evening. There was also a fine attendance at the Requiem Mass in the Church of Christy the King, Shanballym­ore, on Friday. Interment took place to the local cemetery.

To his son, Pat; daughters, Mary (Noonan) and Brid; sister, Mary Ellen Curtin; grandchild­ren, Alan, Leann and Niamh; son-in-law, Oliver; Brid’s partner, Pat; brothers-in-law; sistersgre­at-grandniece­s and nephews; close friends, Patsy and Louise; relatives; carers; neighbours; and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
