Mourneabbey
Tuesday 8th 27 pupils travelled to the Lee valley cross country in Macroom park. Keelin from 2nd class came in a very worthy 3rd place. On Thursday 17th October they celebrated climate change awareness day. Pupils dressed up as a native species or wore green on the day to show their support for climate change.
The Senior Room pupils travelled by bus on a tour of many local historical sites including Knocknakilla, Carrigastira and Carriganima. They saw a wedge tomb, a stone circle, a famine graveyard and a penal church. A great day was enjoyed by all and they are very busy doing written projects on these at present.
October was handwriting month and on Friday 25th many pupils from each class were presented with certificates for their handwriting. All the pupils also dressed in their Halloween costumes for the day.
The parents association have organised a floral demonstration in the school for Friday December 6 at 7:30pm. Tickets are €10 and all are very welcome on the night.
EVENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT IN CARRIGANIMA
A great night is guaranteed on this Saturday November 16 when local musicians Tim Joe and Ann will be performing all in aid of Parkinsons . Connie Riordan ( Milkman ) will make a special appearance and no doubt will perform a song or a recitation. Your support for this worthy cause would be great.
On Friday November 22, the place will be bopping to the music of T.R.Dallas. Ye may remember due to a family bereavement he had to cancel his last visit, but true to his word and to the efforts of Seanie, he is back. Great night assured.
To round off November there will be Live Music in the Pub on Saturday night November 23 with some surprises no doubt.
CART LOCAL BUS
A Great Night was had on Saturday night last at The Pub in Carriganima where Millstreet Vintage Club Members made a presentation to CART Carriganima of €1,177.50 proceeds from the Charity Tractor Run the Club ran last September to help towards the running costs for the Area Rural Bus Service.
The Vintage Club are delighted to be associated once again this year with such a worthy cause, many thanks to CART Carriganima and the Pub Carriganima for the hospitality that all were given on Saturday night in Carriganima, and Millstreet Vintage Club look forward to working with this great group again in 2020.
G.A.A. NEWS

SHANE MURPHY MEMORIAL POC FADA–This annual event takes place on Sunday Nov 24 at Clondrohid Commumity Hall . The chosen charity this year is the Irish Guide Dogs. To date this event has raised up to €7000 for various charities. So come out and show your skills and enjoy the catch up with friends.

‘SWIPE RIGHT FOR MOURNEABBEY’
Mourneabbey Community Council Mourneabbey Community Council are pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for our 40th Anniversary Show ‘Swipe Right for Mourneabbey’. These two shows will take place on Thursday November 21st and Friday November 22nd in Mourneabbey Community Centre.
This will be a great community event marking 40 years since the ‘Hall’ opened. As tickets are presales and limited be sure and buy your tickets in advance. The thursday night show will also have pupils from Analeentha involved.

MINORS INTO A COUNTY FINAL
Well done to our minor footballers who won the county semi final in Pairc ui Chaoimh las friday night. This was a hard battle against a St Nicks team on a scoreline of Clyda Rovers 0-12, St. Nicks 0-9.
The final won’t be for a couple of weeks as the other side of the draw is delayed
MOURNEABBEY LADIES
Well done to MourneAbbey ladies who are back in the All Ireland final after a comprehensive win versus Donamoyne from Monaghan on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-10. This was after a great second half display as we were down 3 points at half time. Thanks to all our volunteers who helped out stewarding.
JUVENILE GAA CLUB AGM
Clyda Juvenile AGM will be held this Friday 15th November in Mourneabbey community centre at 8pm. All parents are encouraged to attend. Congratulations to Ben Nyhan and his team at St Colman’s College Fermoy on winning the Munster A Hurling Dean Ryan competition progressing to the All Ireland semi final this coming Saturday 16th November.
