Colour to brighten these dark times

IN these unprecedented times people will be the ones to defeat this unseen enemy by doing as we are advised by our government and our health experts, but we may also have something to offer these dark times.

Spring growth and colour always lifts our spirits and now that we are all at home we might be able to help this to happen from our own homes. All with green fingers and those who might have green fingers but have always been too busy at work or otherwise to try could start to get a window box or a hanging basket ready by planting flowers in them and when we start to get the better of this pandemic, and be sure we will, we will be able to hang out our basket and widow boxes to show with a mass of colour that we are emerging from these grey times.

MERCY HOUSE SUPPORT GROUP

DUE to the current situation brought around by Covid-19 a voluntary group called ‘Mercy House Support Group’ has been set up in Kanturk in conjunction with local businesses to facilitate people to remain in their own homes during the crisis. This group will deliver essential food, medical and fuel supplies to your home. For further details please contact Mercy House on 029 51161. So far this initiative is working and offering a great comfort to those vulnerable at this time. The group will continue as long as needed. 70TH BIRTHDAY PARTY CANCELLED

DUE to Covid-19, St. Theresa’s Place Residents Association have reluctantly decided to cancel their 70th birthday party, originally planned for May 16th.

This was to be a celebration of all the people who had any connection with St Theresa’s Place during the 70 years since the first houses were built.

It is hoped this celebration can and will be held at a later date.

MARTS TO REOPEN

THE news has just been announced that marts are to open for business under strict conditions due to the corona virus.

This is to happen at this very important time for farmers to control their stock numbers. Kanturk Mart will reopen in the next few days and will operate under the strict guidance and guidelines laid down by the government.
