Big push on to complete club’s journey of hope

- TIMMY LYNCH timmylynch@eircom.net

THERE is still time to help the ‘journey of glory to a journey of hope’.

On Friday 29th May and Saturday 30th May, Kanturk GAA Club is doing a “Dawn to Dusk Walk” in aid of its Pieta House, Preventing Suicide and Self Harm fundraiser on a high. They are only 500km’s away from their goal of 3,333 kilometres.

In 2017 Kanturk GAA Club and their supporters travelled 3,333 kilometres on their road to glory in winning the All Ireland intermediate hurling title and the county intermediate football title. Between May 9th at 5.30am and May 30th at 5.30am they are going to travel that road again for Pieta House.

Please open Kanturk GAA Facebook page or Instagram page and walk or run part of that journey with us between the above dates. On the page there is a gofundme donate button where you can donate to Pieta house.

The Annual Darkness Into Light fundraising walk should have taken place on Saturday last May 9th. The walk/run could not take place this year due to Covid-19, so a Darkness Into Light ‘Sunrise’ appeal took place instead.

Kanturk GAA Club have come on board this year to help Kanturk Men’s Shed and their committee to make up the shortfall in funds raised, which over the past two years has been €15000 approx.

If you want to make a cash donation you can do that by calling to Barrett’s Bar Off Licence in O’Brien Street, between 4.00pm and 7.00 pm any evening and dropping your donation into a bucket.
