Getting back on the saddle
EQUINE therapist Sarah O’Gorman is looking forward to saddling up her horses again to comfort local children who had been availing of her services prior to the implementation of COVID-19 restrictions.
Based in Macroney near Kilworth, Sarah set up Equine Interactions last September having gained a degree in psychology and worked with childrens’ charity, Barnardos, for 10 years.
“I wanted to do something which combined children and horses,” said Sarah.
Up to the lockdown came in, children with anxiety were coming to Sarah and business was looking up. “I was called by a mother who said her seven year old son had slept through the night for the first time following his first visit.”
“We’ll be reopening on June 8 and we are looking forward to it.
“There will be precautions of course - a hand washing area and more time between sessions.”
