CHURCH NEWS

MASS TIMES – On Sunday, May 31, at 8.30 a.m. Mass will be streamed live at www.mcnmedia/tv. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 1 to June 3 mass will be streamed at midday. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 4 to June 6 live streaming at 10 a.m.

MONTH OF JUNE – The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Feastdays for the coming week: Monday 1st – Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the church. Tuesday 2nd – Ss. Marcellinu­s and Peter, martyrs. Wednesday 3rd – St Kevin, abbot. Thursday 4th – Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Eternal High Priest. Friday 5th – St Boniface, bishop and martyr. Saturday 6th – St Norbert; St Jarlath, bishop.

NEW HALL – Very many thanks to Ballyhea Community Council for a cheque of €1,000 being a further transfer of Residual funds from the old Parochial Hall to the building fund for the New Hall. This brings the total transfer, so far, to €10,000.

CANDLE SHRINES – If anybody wishes to have candles lit in the Shrines in the church, please contact the Sacristan at 086 3016859.

CHOIR/ALTAR SERVERS OUTING – Due to Covid-19 the annual choir and Altar servers outing is cancelled for this year.

WINDOW SUBSCRIPTI­ONS – If anyone or any family wishes to sponsor a window, this can be done by a single subscripti­on or by a number of subscripti­ons over a period of time. One window will be open to public subscripti­on, anyone can contribute any amount to it, if they so wish. Please contact the parish priest.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION­S – No church gate collection taken up at St Mary’s Church, Ballyhea is endorsed by the parish. Any group or organisati­on intending to collect outside the church gates are asked to present copies of their permits in the sacristy, together with copies of letters of authorisat­ion of those collecting on their behalf. This should be done before the collection commences.

LOTTO – The club lotto draw is on hold for the moment due to the current Covid 19 situation. Any tickets sold will be entered in the next draw that is held. Thank you for your continued support.

MEMBERSHIP – Club Membership for Juveniles is €20, Adults €40 and Family €80.

If any of the older or vulnerable parishione­rs need prescripti­ons collected at this time or a check on a neighbour is required, feel free to contact Charlevill­e Gardaí at 063 21170. Remember to keep practising social isolation and adhere to the 2km travel rule except for essential work or shopping. Keep safe.

BALYHEA RESPONSE GROUP

Ballyhea have set up a support group who will do shopping, collect prescripti­on from Doctor or Pharmacy and offer support to anyone who might be feeling vulnerable, isolated, alone or worried in the midst of this health crisis.

Ballyhea Response Group has spoken to some shops and pharmacies already and strict hygiene protocols will be followed (e.g. use of disposable gloves, shopping bag and the pledge to never enter your home). Please have your Doctor’s number on standby along with your Eircode. If you don’t know your Eircode you can let one of the following people know and they will get it for you.

COMMUNITY ALERT

Ballyhea Community Alert has successful­ly set up a Text Alert Network to immediatel­y alert our community when an incident occurs. Prompt informatio­n to and from Gardaí deters criminal activity.
