West Muskerry athletes’ success in the sunshine
WEST Muskerry athletes welcomed the return to some track competitions over the last few weekends. Due to restrictions only certain ages could compete but those who did were thrilled to be able to get back out onto the track and give it a go after the training during lockdown.
Cathal Ryan competed in the Leevale competition and his training paid off big time for him when he had two new massive personal bests in the 100m, breaking the 12 second barrier and also 55 seconds in the 400m. Lockdown training is really working well for him and he is looking forward to the National Senior competition next weekend.

Grace Duarte ran a superb race to finish in 2nd place in the U 13 800m

A huge thank you to the Caretaker and Clondrohid Community Recreational Facilities for the use of their grounds for a very successful Summer Camp. Also thank you to Elaine Flaherty for coming out to do zumba for the 100 athletes and the coaches who really enjoyed it. All had a great time.
