The Corkman

Donal ‘Tucker’ Corkery R.I.P.

-

THE passing of Donal (Tucker) Corkery at the Mercy University Hospital on Saturday, August 15 brought much sadness to a wide area.

From Ballyphilibeen, Moureabbey, Tucker was a hugely popular man who was much loved and admired by all who were privilaged to have known him.

He was a talented musician and singer, and was renowned as a stand-up comedian who spun many a yarn throughout his life.

Over the years he produced CDs of his work which are lovingly placed in many homes throughout the region.

Tucker was also a much loved business man and operated Tucker’s Take Away in Chapel Lane for many years where he always had a loyal custom from people of all walks of life and ages. Sadly, he gave up this business due to illness, an illness he faced with undying courage.

When meeting Tucker he spoke openly about his illness and lived with that huge smile despite his health conditions.

Tucker will be greatly missed by so many people as he brought joy, laughter and entertainment to all of us.

He is predeceased by his brother Eddie and survived by his wife Mary (Hassett) son David, daughter Danielle, brother John, sisters Sheila and Mary, relations, neighbours and many friends.

Tucker’s Funeral was held privately. Thanks for music and the laughs. R.I.P.
