Fundraiser to help house fire victims

- TIMMY LYNCH timmylynch@eircom.net

KANTURK Mens Shed are organising a fundraiser to help the victims of a recent serious house fire at their home in St Patrick’s Place, Kanturk on Saturday 2nd August, which destroyed a large part of the house.

Donal Mannix, who is a member of Kanturk Mens Shed, and his wife Peggy were extremely lucky not to lose their lives in this fire but their house was badly damaged.

Donal is a very active member of the Men’s Shed and over the years has taken part in Tidy Towns and numerous projects involving repair works in the local Town Park and any works involved in keeping the town of Kanturk clean and safe. He is a valuable man to have involved when required.

In return the members of the Mens Shed are coming together to set up a gofundme page and, hopefully, a bucket collection over the coming weeks to try and get these good people back into their home.

We ask the help of all local people to donate to this good cause so that we can hurry up the process of repairing their home.

We will be advertising shortly and a gofundme page will be set up for anyone wishing to donate.

Thanking you all stay safe. Regards, Kanturk Mens Shed.

Your support will be greatly appreciated.
