Lady Captain’s Prize Day at club
ON Saturday 15th August Lady Captains Day took place at Charleville Golf Club.
Despite an overcast day, the day stayed fine and very warm. All the ladies and visitors enjoyed a great day of golf.
Lady Captain Phil Curtin was delighted with the large turnout.
The presentation of prizes took place in the club house on Sunday 16th August. President Barra O’Dwyer introduced Lady Captain Phil and gave a brief background about Phil and thanked her for all her hard work around the clubhouse.
The Lady Captain then addressed the attendance and thanked everyone for their best wishes and gifts. She acknowledged all the support she had received from her family, the ladies committee, club parent committee, the professional Mark Collins, greens staff, office staff and volunteers.
She congratulated Nola Murray, who won the beautiful Lady Captain’s Prize and all the other prize winners. A very enjoyable evening followed the presentation ceremony.
The results:
In first place was Nola Murray (33) who scored 39 points, followed by Aine Howard (23) with 38pts c/ b, Gross Silver, Imelda O’ Hanlon (9) with 38pts, Gross Bronze, Kay Cagney (35) with 36pts, in third place was Valerie O’Keeffe (20) with 37pts., and in fourth place was Marie Walsh ( 16) with 35pts.
The past captain prize was won by Mary Howard (23) with 33pts c/ b, and the committee prize went to Eileen Fleming (21) with 34pts.
In fifth place was Marie Danaher ( 18) with 34 points, with Margaret Deady (16) in sixth position with 33pts., followed by Mary Johnson (31) on 32 points c/ b in seventh place. In 8th position was Patricia Walsh ( 15) with 32 points. Category 0 – 21: Angela Lyons (17) 31points
Category 22 – 30: Siobhan Bowles (25) 31 points
