Multi-talented Stack strikes at the death
HAVING earlier in the day provided match commentary for Newmarket’s victory over Aghada, ever-green and multi-talented Robert Stack netted the late, late winner for the Junior B footballers against St Johns in round two of the championship.
In what was a very even contest, Newmarket trailed 0-04 to 1-03 at the half-time mark, having had scores from Eddie Allen, TJ Bodie, Cian Crowley and Michael Kenneally.
Into the second half, Newmarket got back on level terms with a brace from Nicky Barrett and scores from TJ Bodie and Paudie O’Sullivan, to leave the match at 0-08 to 1-05.
A further point from Robert Stack and a pair of frees from TJ Bodie left the game 0-11 to 1-08 deep into injury time.
But Robert Stack wasn’t finished his day just yet. Having started his club duties with a microphone in his hand in Grenagh, the Twitter, YouTube and pod-casting sensation popped up to seal victory with a splendid 64th-minute goal and a vital win for his team. The final score was 1-11 to 1-08.
