MITCHELSTOWN is stepping up to the plate during National Heritage Week, with Mitchelstown Library and Irish Family Search hosting a compelling family history exhibition up to Sunday, August 23.

This will take the form of a street-view expo, free to be enjoyed while out for a leisurely stroll, day or night.

Any queries can be made to (087) 358 9834. On Saturday. August 22 at 12 noon, a free guided family history walking tour will be conducted from Clongibbon Hotel, hosted by Irish Family Search.

The even will last roughly two hours, with check-in at 11.40am. The contact number for this is (087) 358 9734.

Irish Family Search, at www.irishfamilysearch.com, also invites participants to log on and trace their roots.

Whether it be ancestral names, places, dates, occupations, or emigration dates you require, researchers are at hand to help.
