Carmel Sheedy

The death occurred on August 25 at Cork University Hospital of Carmel Sheedy (née Lynes), Feremoy Road, Mitchelsto­wn, and formerly of Thurles and Sligo.

The late Carmel was well-known as a teacher at Presentati­on Convent Secondary School in Mitchelsto­wn for many years prior to her retirement.

In accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings, her Funeral was held in private. Requiem Mass was held in the Parish Church, Mitchelsto­wn, on Saturday.

To her husband, Jerry; sons, Padriagh and Diarmuid; daughters, Derval, Muireann and Grainne; sister, Kathleen (Burke); brother, Diarmuid (Lynes); grandchild­ren, Ella Mae, Toby Cromie, Jack, Darragh, Conor, Caoimhe Sheedy, Thomas and Saoirse (Hussell), Paddy and Clodagh Styles; sons-in-law, Sam, David and Richard; daughter-in-law, Eva; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; neighbours and colleagues at the Presentati­on Convent, Mitchelsto­wn, and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Brenda Drislane

The death occurred on August 28 of Brenda Drislane (née Fleming), Ballyheaph­y, Araglin and formerly of Ballyragge­t, County Kilkenny.

The late Brenda was a member of a well-known family in the Araglin area.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Michael. Her Funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings.

To her daughters, Madge and Eileen; sons, Denis, Mike, Dave and John; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchild­ren; great-grandchild­ren; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Michael Cloney

The death occurred on August 25 at his residence at The Close, Dun Eala, Fermoy of Michael Cloney, retired Garda Sergeant.

The late Michael was a very popular member of the force and well respected in Fermoy, Bandon and New Ross. His Funeral was held at Ronayners’ Funeral Home on Wednesday with Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church on Thursday. Burial took place to Kilcrumper New Cemetery.

To his wife, Betty; sons Michael, Paul and Damian; daughter, Martina; grandchild­ren, Sarah, David, Eoghan, Darragh, Ciaran, Niall, Maeve, Jack and Gabriella; great-grandchild, Amelia; daughters-in-law, Anna Marie and Ann Marie; brothers; sisters; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; former Garda colleagues and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Donal Daly

The death occurred on August 22 at Connolly Hospital, Blanchards­town, of Rev Dr Donal Daly, Maynooth, and formerly of Fermoy.

The late Dr Donal was a former lecturer in philosophy in the SVD Faculty of Philosophy (Donamon), Pontifical University of Maynooth.

In accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings, his Funeral was held in private.

To his nieces and nephews, Maria, Tim, Mike, Eleanor, Tony and Paula; grandniece­s; grandnephe­ws; cousins; relatives; extended family; Divine Word Missionary; conferrers and former NUIM colleages, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Eily (Ellen) Fitzgibbon (née Ryan) The death occurred on August 29 of Eily (Ellen) Fitzgibbon (née Ryan) at Corpus Christi Nursing Home, Mitchelsto­wn.

The late Eily of Coolroe, Skeheenari­nky was a very popular member of the local community. She was predecease­d by her husband, Dan.

In accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings, her Funeral was held in private. Requiem Mass was held on Sunday in Kilbehenny Parish Church, with burial to the Church Grounds.

To her daughters, Chris, Geraldine and Joan; sons, Eddie and Tony; daughter-in-law, Hannah; sons-in-law, Noel, Jerry and John; grandchild­ren, Simon, Fiona, Geraldine, Malcolm. Catriona, Aisling, Sean and Vincent; great-grandchild­ren, Ruby, Leo, Ida Vaughan, Matteo and Sean; relatives; neighbours and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Oonagh Brennan

The death occurred on August 24 of Oonagh Brennan, Monkstown, Cork, at Marymount Hospice after an illness bravely borne.

The late Oonagh was sister of Olivia O’Meara, Railway Road, Mitcheltow­n. Her Funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings. Requiem Mass was on Friday, August 28.

To her sons, Christophe­r and Clive; sisters, Mary (Australia) and Olivia (Mitchelsto­wn); grandchild­ren, Cara, Cian and Oliver; daughters-in-law, Monika and Chantel; brother-in-law, Michael; Carolyn; nephews; nieces; relatives neighbours and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
