Community council to host spring fair in Edel Quinn Hall

Kanturk and District Community Council are delighted to announce that the spring market is back again this year and will take place on Sunday, 24th March from 10am to 4pm and admission is free.

Last year’s market was a ‘bouncing’ success and this year we’re confident of making it even bigger and better. If you want to book a stall please contact Ger on 087 2307382. To avoid disappoint­ment please book it as soon as possible. Stalls cost €30.

PERSON OF THE YEAR GALA

The person of the year gala night has been reschedule­d to Friday, 23rd February at 8pm in the Edel Quinn Hall.

Again, we like to apologise for the cancellati­on but are confident with the extra time we will make it even better for everyone, especially the 12 monthly winners.

Please support these winners by voting online at kanturkcom­munitycoun­cil.ie or by ballot papers at Twohig’s Supervalu, Credit Union and the post office. A QR code will also be available.

All of us in Kanturk and District Community Council would like to thank everyone that helped make Kanturk very festive looking for Christmas. Those who put up and took down all the decoration­s around town, THANK YOU ALL. Ye did an amazing job.

Coming up in the Edel Quinn Hall on Wednesday, January 31st, Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd February at 7.30pm Colaiste Treasa’s TY students hold their musical “Be Our Guest” which they’ve been rehearsing extremely hard for.

Tickets are on sale at the office in the school - A show not to be missed and will probably sell out so get your tickets ASAP.

In the Edel Quinn Hall; Foroige continues on Monday from 7.30 to 9pm in the Foróige room located at the front of the hall. It’s for boys and girls from the ages of 12 to 17 and new members are welcome.

Social Dancing with Dan continues Tuesday night from 8 to 10pm and everyone is welcome. Taekwondo is on Thursday evening between 6 and 8pm.

In the Temperance Hall, Kanturk Trout Anglers Club have their weekly meeting on Tuesdays between 7 and 9pm, new members welcome.

Yoga continues on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at various times. Please contact Simon on 0873379121 for further informatio­n.
