THE LATE MARY SHEEHAN

The death occurred on January 20 at Padre Pio Nursing Home Cappoquin of Mary (Maudie) Sheehan (Nee (Nugent) Ballinaroo­n, Ballyduff Upper and formerly of Kilmagner Fermoy.

The late Mary was in her 99th year. She was a very popular member of the community being predecease­d by her husband Michael.

There was a large and represente­d attendance at her funeral on Monday evening in Ronayne’s Funeral Home Fermoy. Requiem Mass was held in St Michael’s Church Ballyduff on Tuesday followed by burial to the local cemetery.

To her sons David, Vincent, Gerard, sisters Nora (Fitzgerald) Sr. Margaret, David’s partner Mary, daughters in law Anne, Bridget, grandchild­ren Barry, Nigel, Elaine, Kelly, David, Conor, great grandchild­ren Zoe, Orlaith nephews, nieces, extended family neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE JOHN GEARY

The death occurred at Marymount Hospice Cork on January 18 of John Geary, Marshalsto­wn, Mitchelsto­wn formerly of Rylane.

There was a large attendance at the funeral on Sunday evening in the Chapel of Rest Mitchelsto­wn.

Cremation took place at the Island Crematoriu­m on

Monday. To his wife Lil (Nee Walsh) daughter Colette, family son in law Eoin Bartley, grandchild­ren Bradley, Art, Naoise, relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE EILEEN O’SULLIVAN

The death occurred on January 16 at St Patrick’s Community Hospital Fermoy of Eileen O’Sullivan (Nee Roche).

The late Eileen formerly of Ballybeg Mitchelsto­wn was predecease­d by her husband Michael. She had been in ill health for a short while.

She was a member of a very popular family of the local community.

Her popularity was borne out in the large and represente­d attendance that was present at the funeral on Friday evening from the Chapel of Rest Baldwin St. Her Requeim Mass was very well attended in the Parish Church on Saturday followed by burial to the adjoining cemetery.

To her daughters Mary (Dennehy) Elizabeth (Cronin) Eileen (Weston) England, son Eoghan brothers Frank, Liam, sisters Maura, Ann, Brid, grandchild­ren great grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE MICHAEL McCARTHY

The death occurred at Cork University Hospital on January 16 of Michael McCarthy, Iona Park, Mayfueld and formerly of Ballindang­an Mitchelsto­wn.

He was predecease­d by his wife Abby. The late Michael was late of Lynch & McCarthy Farm Machinery.

His funeral took place from Mayfield Funeral Home Old Youghal Road Cork on Friday night. His Requiem Mass was held in the Church of Our Lady Crowned Mayfield on Saturday followed by burial to St Oliver’s Cemetery.

To his daughters Eileen (Hayes) Catherine (Leahy, sons Peter, Gerard, David, brothers Fanahan, Dominic, sister Nora, sons in law Sean, Jim, daughters in law Lorraine, Avril, Frances, 14 grandchild­ren nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law extended family neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE TIM BOURKE

There was a great sense of sadness throughout the Mitchelsto­wn and South Limerick areas when word broke of the untimely death of Tim Bourke, Curraghkil­bran, Galbally at the Mater Hospital Dublin pn January 16. The late Tim aged 69 was very well known and a throrough gentleman.

He was employed as a driver at Dairygold Mitchelsto­wn. In his younger days he was a noted Gaelic footballer and Rugby player.

His popularity was borne out in the huge gathering at Frazers Funeral Home Galbally on Friday evening and also on Saturday at the Requiem Mass in the Church of Christ the King Galbally followed by burial to the local cemetery.

To his wife Sheila, daughter Karen, sons Steven, Paul, Sean, brothers Con, Billy, Frank, sisters Sheila, Sr. Stella, Kit, son in law Eamonn, daughters in law Edwina, Ashley, grandchild­ren Charlie, Chloe, Sophia, Lucia, Tom, Alex, Jamie sisters in law, brothers in law nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE TOM CHILDS

The death occurred on January 16 of Tom Childs, Kilscanlon Galbally following a tragic farm accident.

The late Tom in his mid 60s was a gentleman and a great farmer who loved his animals.

His popularity was borne out in the huge attendance at the family home in bad, wet and wintry conditions on Saturday evening for his funeral.

There was also a huge gathering in the Church of Christ the King Galbally for his Requiem Mass on Sunday. Interment took place to the local cemetery.

To his wife Eleanor (Nee Hennessy (Mitchelsto­wn) daughters Elaine, Melissa, brother Richie, sisters Ann (Allen) Betty (Taylor) Catherine (Fitzgibbon) Emma, Rita (Walsh) Veronica, Elaine’s boyfriend Shane, brothers in law, sisters in law nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
