THE LATE BILLY McCARTHY

The death occurred on March 26 at his residence of St Bernard’s Place Fermoy of Billy McCarthy in his 52nd year. The late Billy was a noted hurler but had been in ill health for a number of years.

He played Minor Hurling and Football for Cork, Under 21 hurling for Cork and played with Fermoy Junior hurlers winning North Cork titles in 1990, 1991 and 1994.

He was also a well known coach for Fermoy Ladies football teams. There was a very large and represente­d attendance at his funeral on Sunday evening from Neligan’s Funeral Home and also at the Requiem Mass on Monday in St Patrick’s Church, Fermoy, followed by burial to Kilcrumper New Cemetery.

To his wife Claudine mother Mary, father of Steph sisters, brothers Mary, Thomas, Dianne and James and their families, his parents in law Christy and Breda Kennedy sisters in law Michelle and Nicola, and their families Tara and Cassie as well as a wide range of relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE MARTIN SWEENEY

The death occurred on March 30 of Martin Sweeney St Bernard’s Place Fermoy at CUH Hospital.

There was a large attendance at his funeral on Monday evening from Ronayne’s Funeral Home to St Patrick’s Church Fermoy for Requiem Mass and burial on Tuesday. Interment took place to Brigown Cemetery Mitchelsto­wn.

To his brothers/sisters Margaret, Chris Jim, Tom Johnny, Mike brother in law Martin (Murt) sisters in law Ina, Ann, Nephews, nieces grandnephe­ws, grandniece­s great grandniece­s, extended family, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
