Cork’s first over-30s’ club event sells out in a flash

It’s a nostalgic return to the dancefloor for a legion of old clubbers at the over-30s’ nights at Cypress Avenue

CORK’S first clubbing experience strictly for those over 30 years of age has already sold out just days after it was announced.

The event, which kicks off at 6pm and wraps up at 10pm, is the perfect solution for those looking to grab some food, get the bus home and put their feet up in time for Match of the Day!

Clubgoers can dance the evening away as the DJ spins the best music you can actually dance to from the 80s, 90s, 00’s and beyond mixed with current hits.

Or take a time out from the dancefloor and grab a cocktail at the rooftop bar, Wavelength.

“This is something we haven’t come across before and there’s clearly a hunger for it. Being in the age group myself. I was noticing, once the kids are in bed, you can’t go out late at night anymore and this is the solution to that,” said organiser Eoin Aher.

“In our teens and twenties, we could let loose every weekend and dance all our cares away until the wee hours.

“When we hit our 30s, however, the chances for a late night out get slimmer due to various reasons like children, shift work, clubs being ‘too young’ or those Saturday late night troubles queuing for a chipper and waiting for a taxi. That’s where the 30s club comes in to reclaim your weekend.”

With the first event selling out quickly, three more nights have already been planned which will run from 6pm to 10pm, on Saturday, June 1; Saturday, July 6, and Saturday, August 3 with tickets selling fast.

The event costs €10 general admission and is strictly over 30s.

While usual forms of ID are required, the doorman will also accept an Xtravision or Chartbusters card as a second form upon entry!
