The Corkman

FULL STEAM AHEAD ON THE PLAYING FIELDS

-

The inclement weather of recent weeks saw games deferred in both Red FM Hurling and McCarthy Insurance group football Leagues. Both the Glen Rovers hurling tie & the visit of Castletownbere fell foul of the weather.

Kanturk gathered the league point in the McCarthy Insurance Group division 3 tie away to Newmarket on Sunday last with a Lorcain McLoughlin goal the turning point in the tie to give Kanturk a 1-13 to 0-12 success and make the trip home from their near neighbours a pleasant one.

Kanturk have had successes against Nemo Rangers second string and Macroom in their other games to-date.

In hurling, our last game v Glen Rovers was postponed while Kanturk lost to Sarsfields and defeated Na Piarsaigh in their previous two games to-date.

Next up is an away tie to Ballincollig on this Friday 19th April with a 7.30pm start.
