SEMI FINAL

The countdown is well and truly on for Saturday’s eagerly awaited Munster Senior football semi-final between Kerry and Cork which goes ahead in the Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney with a 4pm throw in. Kerry to their credit have all the fire power but Cork are a proud County and not called the rebels without good reason.

As stated Kerry are the team full of stars all household names while Cork are and have been building on a team that took the Kingdom’s scalp in Super valu Pairc Ui Caoimh not so long ago. So anything can happen in a two horse race. Cork are not travelling down just to make up the numbers, no, they are going to Killarney hoping to put up a performance that will make Kerry having to play well to advance to a Munster Final.

Hopefully both teams turn up full of vigour and give their supporters a game that was worth the trip. The real sad thing about the fixture is that it’s not on regular TV but available on GAAGO only. That’s fine for those who have access to it but for the majority of Country supporters from both Countries and further afield its not an option. It’s expected that this will be the first real test Kerry one of the top teams in the Championship will have and so is of interest to supporters from all Counties.

Money talks with the GAA and the general public who support weekly club lotto’s and join County Board draws are the forgotten members.
