Goodbye Vibrations with Terri Hooley

-

DJ Set

Ulster’s Godfather of Punk, Hooley was the founder of the Good Vibrations record shop and label where he unearthed Stiff Little Fingers and The Undertones. Upon playing

Teenage Kicks, the legendary John Peel said, “isn’t that the most wonderful record you’ve ever heard? In fact, I’m going to play it again” making it the first song ever played

twice, back-to-back on the BBC. Hooley’s had the autobiographical treatment and cinematic immortalisation in a well-received indie feelgood flick. Now, he’s is on another well-earned lap of honour deciding that 2020 will mark his final one on the decks. “I’d rather go out with a bit of a bang than just fade,” he says and who are we to disagree.
