A CALCULATED KISS FROM EVIE
As first years go, baby Abi Branning didn’t have a great one. Her mother died after falling off a pub roof and now she’s in the care of her lying, cheating grandfather and his former junkie fake wife.
Eager to prove she can be a responsible mother, Rainie offers to take charge of Abi’s birthday party, but when she has a dizzy spell and drops the cake, the party – like all Walford celebrations – starts to fall apart at the seams.
It’s not just Rainie’s plans that go wrong. Karen gives Bernadette a makeover in order to impress Tiffany, and ends up destroying her bathroom. It’s hard to imagine how their pigsty of a home could possibly be made any worse. It’s harder still to understand why anyone would let Karen, a woman for whom a hair scrunchie and a T-shirt with no ketchup stains is the epitome of chic, give them a makeover. And could it have been for nothing? Aware of Bernadette’s crush, Evie kisses Tiffany to make her jealous (pictured).
Karen asks Mitch, her ex, to repair the bathroom and he arrives with a youngster called Bailey in tow. He claims she’s a friend’s daughter. But, slippery character that he is, there’s bound to be more to it.
Meanwhile the dealing rumbles on as Tiffany takes one of Evie’s drug runners under her wing.
