THE former partner of Fiona Pender and the father to her unborn child has moved to Canada with his wife and their three children.

John Thompson, 40, relocated to Saskatoon in Saskatchewan in Canada in 2012.

Mr Thompson married Sarah Coughlan – who has a child from a previous relationship – in 2004. They have two children together, a boy and a girl.

Mr Thompson, from Killeigh, Co. Laois, was living with Fiona Pender in August 1996 on Church Street when she went missing. They had been dating for three years and had lived together in London for a short time.

In an interview on the anniversary of Fiona’s first anniversary he said he left her at 6am on the morning of August 23 to work on his family farm between Killeigh and Mountmellick.

The pregnant hairdresser and model has been missing for 17 years.

In 2008, Mr Thompson and his wife set up J&S Market Capital Ltd in England but this was dissolved in 2012. The couple have since set up J&S Investments in Saskatoon.
