I’m grateful that the canvassers don’t dare knock

Philip Mann is disappoint­ed because he received six leaflets but only one knock on the door from election candidates (MoS letters, May 11).

In contrast, I am pleased that most of the literature arrived through my letterbox without a knock on the door (and most of it has gone straight into the recycling bin).

Perhaps failure to deliver on promises makes politician­s shy about knocking on doors.
