Cash boost for horse charity
A HORSE charity in Co. Longford has been given €20,000 by Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney.
Until now Hungry Horse Outside, which rescues horses in the Midlands, received just €1,400 a year.
The money will go to the charity’s reducedrate castration project – many horse owners cannot pay vets’ fees. ‘We’ve never rescued as many mares with foals as this year,’ said the group’s founder Hilary Robinson.
