Wesanna ask for wedding gift money to go to the dogs

SHE’S having three weddings but Rosanna Davison doesn’t want to appear greedy.

It’s round two for the former Miss Ireland and husband Wesley Quirke today, as they make doubly sure in Ibiza before they apply the triple lock in Powerscourt in three weeks’ time.

But lest anyone think the wealthy couple are angling for three lots of wedding pressies, Wesanna have asked their guests to donate to charity instead of buying a gift.

Pop crooner Chris de Burgh’s daughter and the Dr Quirkey slot-machine heir are willing to forego the toasters and the Newbridge cutlery if guests will instead give the cash to a well known animal charity.

‘Don’t feel obliged to bring a gift. If you wish a donation can be made in our name to the ISPCA,’ said the invites. And the couple even set up a MyCharity page to make it easier for guests to donate.

But despite their huge circle of affluent friends and family, as of Friday only €550 had been donated – some way off Rosanna’s target of €2,500 and the closing date is today.

One of Rosanna’s closest friends, author Marissa Mackle, donated €100, as did David Cahill. Two anonymous donors gave €300 between them.

At the first wedding, in the Merrion Hotel two weeks ago, Rosanna and Wesley were joined by 25 family members and best friends. Rosanna wore a Dawn Fitzgerald creation.

Today, the couple will say ‘I do’ in front of 80 guests, amid tight security at the exclusive Atzaró farm.

Finally, on June 21, they will be joined by over 250 guests for the third and final slice of wedding cake in the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry.
