Perhaps he’ll help Mum pay £375 fine for not keeping up with her paperwork

- By Katy Balls

VICTORIA BECKHAM may have just been named Entrepreneur Of The Year – but even business geniuses sometimes forget to do their paperwork.

The former Spice Girl is to be fined £375 after failing to file her company accounts on time.

She is more than a month late submitting the documents for the fashion brand that carries her name.

And if they remain unfiled for another two months, the fine rises to £750.

The fines shouldn’t prove a problem for a company that has an estimated £30 million-a- year turnover, but many may be surprised that such a large business could have made such a simple error.

According to the latest records that Victoria Beckham Ltd did file at Companies House, the firm is actually £1.8 million in the red with £7.6 million of assets and £9.4 million of liabilities.

The delay in filing is said to have been caused because Victoria recently began the complicated process of extracting her fashion business from the ‘brand Beckham’ empire, indicating that in future she plans to expand her business – which could be worth £200 million by 2019 – independently from her husband David.

One such expansion could see her producing a line of scented candles. The Mail on Sunday has learned that she is looking to collaborate with a big-name brand on such a launch.

Her own favourites are said to be made by Jo Malone, whose lime, basil and mandarin candles she burned during a fashion show in New York.

A spokesman for Victoria said that the accounts will be submitted shortly.
