ACTRESS Alison Doody’s fiancé is the mystery seller of a multimillion euro home in the heart of Dublin 4 – and he appears in line for a tidy profit.

Last month it was revealed that No. 30 Lansdowne Road had gone on the market for €3.25m – that’s €1.75m more than he paid for it a year ago.

The five bedroom house was bought a year ago for €1.5m and underwent renovations before it went back on the market. However, mystery surrounded the identity of the buyer.

Made his millions in the family business

Now the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal that Tadgh Geary, the millionaire meat baron, and his brother Dave bought the Georgian pile in 2013 and renovated it.

Mr Geary, from Limerick, made his millions in the family meat business, Pallas Foods. But he has more recently moved tentatively into investing the property market.

He set up a company Dat Cortez Limited in 2013 with his brother and then applied for planning permission to renovate the house, which is located in the capital’s Embassy Belt and around the corner from the RDS.

The company has since been liquidated.

The brothers are also listed as owners of the property according to documents lodged with Dublin City Council when applying for planning permission.

The 4,200 sq ft home was renovated by top architects and interior designers and looks likely to fetch the asking price.

The recent resurgence in the property market, especially in Dublin, has meant that investors can expect to make money on properties they bought in recent years.

Last month Mr Geary, who is managing director of Pallas Foods, proposed to Ms Doody and whisked her off to Paris to celebrate the engagement.

The pair had been dating on and off for over a year and friends of the actress said she was thrilled at the proposal.

‘Alison is delighted,’ said a source. ‘ She’s a lovely girl. It’s great to see her happy.’

The MoS understands that Mr Geary surprised the former Bond girl with proposal and he bought her a ‘token’ ring while in Paris.

‘He wanted her to have the perfect ring so they are going to pick one together.’

Ms Doody has been telling friends that’s she is ‘over the moon’ and is already making plans for their wedding. She has been dating the businessman for more than a year after being introduced by mutual friends.

She was previously married to Independent media chief Gavin

O’Reilly and the pair have two teenage daughters.

Ms Doody, 50, moved from modelling to acting with an appearance in the 1985 Bond movie, A View To A Kill.

Four years later, she starred alongside Harrison Ford as an Austrian archaeologist in Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. In more recent years, she had a part in E4 comedy Beaver Falls.

Mr Geary did not respond to questions about the property from the MoS this weekend.

No. 30 Lansdowne Road has undergone considerable renovation work over the past year since he bought it.

The redbricked house has been restored with high-quality fittings to mark it as a prestigious property.

The house is decked with white oiled oak floors throughout and there are two reception rooms.

A bespoke kitchen, marble fireplace and large bay windows are all factors in the sharp increase in the price of the house.

Property website pictures show that the house, which is located near the Aviva Stadium, has been restored to the highest of standards.

Its second level boasts a master suite which has a beautiful shower room finished with Villeroy & Boch tiling, a dressing room and large windows which face out on to Lansdowne Road.

There are also two other bedrooms on this floor and a Jack and Jill bathroom, that is a bathroom accessible from two bedrooms, for guests.

Two further bedrooms can be found on the upper floor, as well as a second Jack and Jill bathroom.

A large garden completes the elaborate makeover.
