Toffee stuck in a rut
UNFULFILLED is a word that has followed Aiden McGeady more stubbornly than any chasing full back. He will be 29 in April, and the search for fulfilment is a tangled one for him. Everton have lost altitude after last term’s excellence, but McGeady’s own circumstances have been squeezed by Aaron Lennon’s loan move to Goodison Park. It does not help his case that McGeady (right) has been identified as one of the personifications of the Toffees’ inconsistency, but the charge is not one that will surprise Irish fans.
