Restaurants will count the cost

-

LEO VARADKAR’S plan to make calorie counts on all restaurant menus mandatory is a classic case of the nanny state. It’s going to cost restaurants large sums, take up many hours of valuable time and in the end won’t make a blind bit of difference to obesity rates in Ireland.

It seems sensible that chains such as McDonald’s or Starbucks print calorie counts, as they work for a mass market and have an unvarying menu. But it’s completely different for a decent restaurant where menus regularly change and different chefs have different ideas on recipes. Many restaurants struggle to stay afloat as it is, without these ridiculous regulations.

David White, is not appropriate for complex dynamic systems such as Earth’s atmosphere.

The effect of this formula is dramatic – it multiplies the initial minor greenhouse warming by a factor of at least three.

This takes the forecast warming from a doubling of CO2 from an unalarming 1˚C to a scorching 3+˚C.

It is why every one of the 73plus models runs hot and is the sole basis for the warming scare.

Earth’s history shows that climate is always changing, with nature as the major climate driver. Neither warm eras nor ice ages last forever.

Earth is on a natural climate see-saw and not approaching a man-made tipping point.
