- writes Donna Ahern

Contrary to what we had been told, expectant mum, model and DJ Louise

Kavanagh is in fact expecting a girl with her Scottish former footballer fiancé Chris Iwelumo,

Louise Kavanagh, who is due in March had originally announced back in October 2014 that she was having a boy but just found out from her doctor that she is in fact having a girl. ‘To be honest it was a total shock as we had started to get to know our little boy inside my tummy and had to do the same process all over again for a little girl,’ said Louise. Chris already has two daughters from a previous relationship, so will this effect his plans to start his own football team? ‘Chris wants loads of kids so hopefully a boy will be on the cards eventually,’ she explained. Luckily the 27-year-old from Killiney hadn’t yet started preparations for the nursery with blue in mind. ‘Thank god we didn’t have anything done to the nursery and we have only really finished getting organised in the past two weeks,’ she said. However, Louise and the 36-year-old soccer star Chris had already chosen a boy’s name, so now it’s back to the drawing board. Louise explained: ‘Baby names have been revised. We had our baby boy name picked out and we were 100 per cent sure but with our girls names there’s three in the running so we will have to wait to meet her first.’ Louise Kavanagh first made a name for herself back in 2010 when she qualified to the finals of Miss Universe Ireland. Since the she has notched up an impressive career DJing in clubs on an international scale and warming up for acts such as Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah to name but a few. She also landed herself a role on the TV series The Tudors along side of fellow Irish heart-throb Jonathan Rhys Meyers. She then moved to London, where she won a much coveted place along side of Hugh Hefner as Ireland’s only Playboy Bunny in his Mayfair club. It was during her time in London that she met Chris Iwelumo, a former Chester FC striker who is now retired and working as a pundit. Louise explained: ‘I met Chris in London through a mutual friend, we went out on a date and he asked me to be his girlfriend that night and have been together ever since. I knew he was the one, you just know.’ So what do the happy couple do as a form of entertainment now that she is expecting? According to Louise, ‘Well, to be honest I don’t drink that often or go to nightclubs so I haven’t changed a whole lot. Myself and Chris watch a lot of box sets like House Of Cards and Orange Is The New Black. But I’m looking forward to a cocktail and some sushi after I have the baby.’ So once her new daughter is born, what’s next for Louise? ‘Well after modelling, DJing and traveling for the past few years, I’m ready to have a career that allows me to balance my home and work life much better. ‘I’m working on an exciting new project with another new mum which I can’t wait to share with everyone this summer.’
