An audience with Pippa, Lisa and Lisa
Famous faces offering workshops on style, fashion and broadcasting
THREE of Ireland’s best known female faces have found a lucrative sideline to their day jobs: holding events in which they impart advice about fashion, style, and how to succeed in broadcasting.
Model Pippa O’Connor, stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick and TV3 presenter Lisa Cannon have all established workshops to share their knowledge with eager audiences.
Model and blogger Pippa O’Connor set up Pippa’s Fashion Factories last year.
Offering women advice on how to create a stylish look and update their hair and make-up, the Fashion Factories take place at plush hotels throughout the country.
They have become a success for the young mother, who is signed to the Andrea Roche Model Agency. Pippa kicked off 2015 with an event in Wicklow’s Powerscourt Hotel and has been adding dates as demand increases. She has hosted around 20 events so far around the country, with up to 100 women attending the workshops.
The event costs €99 and guests receive a goody bag.
Some of her upcoming events are already sold out.
‘Pippa’s events are huge,’ said a source. ‘They have really taken off and women love them for a girls’ day out, something that women can do together.’
In the coming months Pippa will travel the country for showcases in Dublin, Wicklow, Cork and Galway, with some dates already sold out.
Meanwhile, stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick hosted her first fashion and style workshop in Dublin yesterday. Adding an air of celebrity to the occasion, Louis Walsh pitched up as the celebrity guest.
Speaking to the Irish Mail on Sunday, Lisa said she was delighted at the success of her €99-per-head Fashion Fix events. ‘It’s a great day out for women,’ she said. ‘There is hair advice from Brown Sugar Salon and a fashion show to showcase the style. It’s a fun day out but people also really learn great tips and trends.’
The busy mother of two said she fits her fashion events in around commitments to her family. ‘It’s time management,’ she said. And also getting in on the act is Xposé host Lisa Cannon whose inaugural broadcasting workshop takes place on May 10 in the Imperial Hotel in Cork. Lisa is charging
‘They have really taken off. Women love them’
€149 for the day’s event, which is billed as a ‘one-day workshop on becoming a broadcaster.’
It seems that there are huge numbers of Xposé wannabes, as Lisa has revealed that her seminar is already sold out, though she points out that numbers are limited as it is aimed at small groups.
‘It’s very very small,’ she explained. ‘It’s an intensive broadcast class so one-to-one practically. I want to give each person sole attention and give them a chance to learn with me for the entire day.’
