Hi Melissa!

I was delighted to get your letter today, thanks so much. I was worried your mail wasn’t getting through as your last one was marked ‘prohibited’, I never got it, so either they sent it back or its in limbo somewhere. Don’t be disheartened, the mail is slow as well but I will write more frequently, not just when replying if you like?

I love getting your letters and I like writing to you as well. When I saw your letter blocked on the 19th of November, I had actually written two letters, one just before that saying I hadn’t heard from you, and one long one when I realised what happened, I don’t know which one you got. Anyhoo, don’t be put off please, I have you on my visitors list and I will re-try today to put you on my phone again. Sigh! I would never be annoyed with you, for any reason, I am so happy to have you as a penpal!

I am gutted your letter wasnt allowed especially as there was a photo in with it, just so you know, they don’t allow perfume or laminates or anything like that so keep trying, I am trying to imagine what you look like.

I have some court stuff in January, so unfortunately things will be stirred up again, but the High Court thing (2 weeks of it!) should be

:) good for me. There was a life sentence overturned today on appeal, and a re-trial

ordered which is what I am hoping for myself next year.

This will be my third Christmas in prison, and hopefully my

last, where I work in the prison magazine, had our Christmas party today, nice food, kareoke, and a bit of a sing song, live music, it was nice, the last two Christmas(es) I was working hard in the Cloverhill Kitchen cooking for 500 prisoners, so this makes a nice (relatively speaking!) change!

So I don’t know when you will get this or if I will be successful getting your number put on, so if I don’t get to see you or speak to you first, Happy Christmas!! Next year will hopefully be my year, and I hope to get to meet & thank everyone who supported me, especially you! Will write again soon, good luck in your exams/hope they went well??

1 LETTER: Graham Dwyer’s comments about spending his third Christmas in prison, the jail house Christmas party, and the sing song.

Dr Robi says: I think he’s describing a day in the life, what his life is like and he is not trying to be depressing. It’s more like ‘this is my life, I’m going to get out, so this was my holiday how was yours?’

2 LETTER: Dwyer’s hand-drawn design on the left hand corner.

Dr Robi says: I think its saying ‘I want to make things pretty for you, I’m going the extra mile for you.’

3 LETTER: Dwyer switching from ‘Yours Graham’ to ‘With Love from Graham’.

Dr Robi: He’s progressing things. It’s very personal – like ‘I care about you, I care about your life.’ Men in prison are super romantic in a way that people who are working can’t. He definitely has an agenda, his mind-set is he is not guilty. I don’t see any signs of depression. He’s focused on his goal, he’s on a mission, he’s feeling positive. If you are convicted and you are wrongfully convicted, it’s not a happy place.
