Good luck, Daddy

A very touching message from Robbie Brady’s daughter

GOAL SCORER Robbie Brady’s girlfriend and daughter yesterday gave an eve-of-match good luck message to the hero of lille.

Dance instructor Kerrie Harris and two-year-old Halle are anxiously awaiting today’s kick-off – although Halle, who was at the first two group games, will stay behind to be minded by her granny while her mammy rejoins the Green Army.

Kerrie and Robbie’s pitchside embrace captured the hearts of the nation after Robbie had struck late to secure Ireland’s unexpected passage to the second round.

Kerrie – who runs dance academy Sole2Sole in Swords – flew in to lyon early this morning to join with family and friends among the thousands of fans expected to watch the biggest Irish soccer game in 14 years, since the 2002 World Cup.

Gorgeous Kerrie, who met Robbie when she was 16, spoke to the Irish Mail on Sunday last night from her Swords home about the pride she feels for Robbie.

On Friday she tweeted a picture of Halle with a sign that read ‘Ireland’s hero is my daddy’.

She told the MoS that her message to Robbie was simple: ‘Go out there and give it loads, do what you did the last time and play with a big heart.

‘We’re all so proud of you. Win, lose or draw we’re very proud of you.’

Her poignant message comes as Ireland manager Martin O’Neill said on Saturday it was unfair that fewer than 5,000 tickets had been allocated to Ireland supporters for their game against France in the round of the final 16 of euro 2016.

Hosts France found out three days before Ireland that they would be playing in lyon on Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals.

‘Ticket allocation is something I do have a gripe about,’ O’Neill told a news conference at the brand new Parc Olympique lyonnais stadium, which has around 59,000 seats.

‘It’s totally disproportionate. For a stadium this size and this brilliant, for us or any team playing in the round of 16 to be allocated under 5,000 tickets is pretty unfair, really. ‘It’s not just for us. ‘For any side, I think there should have been a certain allocation left aside for the side who would make it here.’
