Heartless FG image

FINE Gael’s Simon Coveney has agreed that Fine Gael can be perceived as ‘heartless’.

In today’s Agenda on TV3 (12pm), he tells host David McWilliams one reason for wanting the housing portfolio was to change the image of Fine Gael.

‘I think there is an image of Fine Gael that is competent in terms of economic management. I certainly hope that’s an image people have.’ When asked if this was a ‘heartless image’, he added: ‘As a party they don’t associate us with caring and protecting vulnerable people.’
