George’s lover in the clear as police rule out foul play

-

GEORGE MICHAEL’S boyfriend Fadi Fawaz has been told by police that he is no longer part of their investigation into the singer’s death.

The celebrity hairdresser was questioned by police last month as they tried to piece together the last hours of the star’s life before he died at his home, aged 53.

Mr Fawaz, 40, was viewed by some as a controversial figure – particularly after claiming to have slept in his car the night before finding Mr Michael dead on Christmas Day.

Now, though, police ‘are satisfied’ there was no foul play.

Mr Fawaz, however, is said to have been frozen out by the star’s family and friends after claiming that the singer killed himself. He tweeted: ‘The only thing George wanted to do is die. He tried to kill himself many times and finally he managed.’

Mr Michael’s body will be released to his family when the results of toxicology tests are released.
