What’s in a name change? It could mean divorce… and then marriage

WITH their gushing outpourings of love for each other and demonstrative displays of public affection, John Delaney and Emma English are surely in contention to be the most demonstative couple around. So when Emma was pictured with a huge rock on her engagement finger last year, rumours were rife that ‘love’s middle-aged dream’ was preparing for marriage.

Now, in another sign they’re paving the way for a wedding, Emma has reverted to her maiden name and has intimated that her divorce from James English has been finalised.

She wrote online: ‘Officially time to change my surname back to my maiden name “KEVLIN”. Will take a little getting used to!! James English it was a privilege and honour to share your name English for the years I did… Thank you.’

Emma was spotted sporting the huge sparkler last August, prompting speculation that her FAI boss boyfriend, pictured smooching with Emma, had popped the question.

The pair have been dating since 2014. Confirming the love match, Delaney was glowing in his affection for his new love: ‘In my job, it can be a very lonely role. You spend a lot of time on your own; you spend a lot of time travelling,’ he told the MoS at the time.

‘And that part of my life hadn’t been fulfilled in terms of my love for somebody and she has brought that love into my life. And I am over the moon over that.’
