Enda mimics Trump?

-

PRESIDENT Trump has made it clear that he will be hostile to any media that have the audacity to do their job by asking the US president serious questions that he may find uncomfortable to answer. Seán Spicer, the new White House press secretary, has catapulted himself into the public limelight with clear lies about the size of the crowd at the inauguration.

During Theresa May’s recent visit to Dublin the Government’s press secretary told the media that they would be allowed two questions. And then informed them who would be allowed to ask the questions: the genial Irish Times and the taxpayer-funded RTÉ.

It’s a troubling development. We trust it was an aberration and not a foolhardy attempt to emulate the boorishness permeating the White House. Surely Enda doesn’t fancy himself as the Irish Trump?
