The Trainspotting soundtrack became embedded in 1990s culture. And while not a match, musically, T2’s producers haven’t lost the knack of presenting music that perfectly fits the film’s images and also works as a soundtrack for those anticipating a night out. The Prodigy remix of Iggy Pop’s Lust For Life is perhaps predictable but listening to tracks by newer acts such as Young Fathers, Wolf Alice and of course The Rubberbandits along with Underworld and The Clash still makes me want to shout ‘Lager! Lager!’.
