... AND THOSE WHO WOULDN’T TELL US

- By Seán Dunne

OUT of the seven hospital groups in Ireland, the RCSI group was the only one that failed to co-operate with the MoS investigation. The group – which comprises Beaumont, Connolly and the Rotunda hospitals in Dublin, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and the Louth, Cavan and Monaghan hospitals – failed to disclose figures for meals produced in 2015 and 2016. This newspaper liaised with all of the groups over the past three weeks, but the RCSI did not supply figures. When asked for a statement this week on why they failed to disclose figures, the group did not respond.

In other groups, some hospitals didn’t supply figures. St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin did not comment on why they did not want to disclose the number of meals produced. Limerick University Hospital failed to disclose information, although other hospitals in the University of Limerick hospital group disclosed data.
