Is there a hidden class bias at work?

-

As a big sports fan, I am fed up of the constant knocking of salaries top soccer players get. It’s true that top players get paid far to much. But I would not leave it at just top soccer players: all top sports people get paid to much. Last year Tiger Woods earned $35m without hitting a ball. Basketball player Kobi Bryant earned $25m. Top movie actors earn $50m per movie. Top agents earn vast amounts on the backs of top sports people.

Why is it always the top soccer players get the bad press? Is it because they are mostly working-class boys who, if they weren’t good at soccer they would be pumping gas or flipping burgers? Enough of this anti-soccer bias.
