presenter Paula MacSweeney is over the moon having got engaged to her partner last month. She told the Diary this week she is totally besotted… with her engagement ring.

The Early Breakfast show host, left, said: ‘I’ve never been happier. We haven’t started planning anything – I can’t stop staring at my engagement ring long enough to do anything productive.’

Early bird Paula, whose 5am show has just landed a sponsorship deal with Tropicana, added of her relationship: ‘We’re not sure what kind of wedding we want yet. To be honest, I’m just looking forward to being married to my best pal.’
