Brippa hoping for a gig at TV3
Couple visit broadcaster for screen tests
PIPPA O’CONNOR and husband Brian Ormond could be close to landing their own TV show, the Diary can reveal.
Sources say the couple have been in TV3 for a number of screen tests, with the most recent test filmed just before Christmas.
‘Brian and Pippa have been in with TV3 quite a few times. They have done a few screentests together,’ said a source.
Brippa, which the couple have become know as, have made no secret of their desire to host their own show and last year copresented TV3’s Seven O’Clock Show, filling in for Lucy Kennedy and Martin King.
They were widely praised for their presenting skills and even compared to UK television stalwarts Richard and Judy.
Model Pippa, 31, said afterwards that being on-screen with Brian, 32, was ‘great craic’. Brian has previously hosted a number of TV shows including The Big Money Game Show on RTÉ and The Toy Show on TV3.
Pippa has limited television experience by comparison, but has done well when she has taken on guest host slots.
The couple previously starred together in Brian And Pippa Are Getting Ma rried, a reality show about their 2011 wedding.
When they co-hosted the Seven O’Clock Show, viewers praised their on-air chemistry.
‘Guys you were amazing!! I think a Brian & Pippa show is needed,’ tweeted one viewer.
‘Would love it you both were permanent fixtures on the show,’ another said.
TV3 has not denied that it is in talks with the couple but would not reveal at what stage negotiations were at.
