FREDA’S FURY

-

In 1993, after 24 years as CEO of Blarney Woollen Mills, Christy’s daughter Freda Hayes resigns from the company following a dispute with her brothers and sisters about the future direction of the company. She is bought out of the business by her three brothers and two sisters, who pay her £1.5m. She is succeeded at the helm of the firm by her sister Marian O’Gorman. Freda then starts up the luxury home furnishing chain Meadows & Byrne.
