FRANK BURKE Club: Ardrahan, Galway

A former Connacht GAA and Galway County Board chairman, Burke was a driving force behind the €11 million redevelopm­ent of Pearse Stadium as the home of Galway GAA. The former school principal is the current chairman of the national coaching and games developmen­t committee.

ROBERT FROST Club: O’Callaghan’s Mills, Clare

THE former Munster chairman has spent a lifetime in GAA adminstrat­ion, having been elected secretary of his club as a 17-yearold. He also served two terms as chairman of the Clare County Board and helped to appoint Ger Loughnane and his management team in 1994 in that position.

JOHN HORAN Club: Na Fianna, Dublin

Horan has an excellent track record as Leinster Council chairman, having served as vicechairm­an before that. He is bidding to be the first Dublin president since JJ Stewart. Principal of St Vincent’s CBS in Glasnevin, he entered GAA politics through the schools and colleges before getting into coaching.

MARTIN SKELLY Club: Newtowncas­hel, Longford

A former Leinster Council chairman, Skelly knows the problems facing smaller counties as he was coaching and developmen­t officer in Longford for six years before becoming county chairman. He also spearheade­d a fund-raising committe that allowed Longford to make the most of their resources.

SEÁN WALSH Club: Moyvane, Kerry

Began a lifetime in GAA adminstrat­ion when he became his club’s secretary at 17. Was club chairman for 12 years and served as developmen­t officer with Kerry County Board. A former Munster and Kerry chairman, he currently heads the national referees’ committee.
