The Blackpitts (FOAD)

One weekend visit to the basements of venues such as Fibber Magees and the Thomas House will tell you the subterranean Dublin punk scene is very much alive. Paranoid Visions, The Lee Harveys and this trio are among the leading lights. The Blackpitts are of the ilk of bands such as The Damned, The Buzzcocks and The Ramones with sparky, spiky missives that are as classically rock and roll as Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran. The relaunched album by Ivor Lynch’s band is instant, insistent and addictive.
