TRUMP CAUSING MORTGAGE RISES

Blame Donald Trump when your mortgage rates start rising. More interest rate rises are on the way in the US ‘sooner rather than later’, according to Janet Yellen, head of the Federal Reserve, which is the American central bank.

Trump plans to splash out on roads, naval ships, and a wall with Mexico – which could ramp up inflation, prompting central banks to hike rates in order to rein it in.

That doesn’t mean rates automatically go up here, but it adds to global pressure for a rate rise.
