EXPORTS WEAKEN DUE TO BREXIT
The forthcoming Brexit has already knocked €500million off our exports total, figures show. However, the State still notched up a €4billion trade surplus in December, showing the economy is weakening a little but still ‘going strong’, says Merrion Capital.
‘The trade outlook for 2017 and beyond remains clouded in uncertainty, but we are still anticipating another solid performance this year,’ said its economist Alan McQuaid.
